He is now senior advisors to the statistical offices in China, Myanmar, Oman, and Abu Dhabi. He is also the Chair of the International Steering Committee on Global Mapping.\n<br\/><br\/>\nIn 2015, the world will forge a consensus on a new set of development goals and associated indicators which will replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).\u00a0 With the MDGs due to expire in 2015, the world is waiting eagerly for a new set of development goals and the monitoring framework. The new global development goals will likely be named \u2018Sustainable Development Goals\u2019 (SDGs).
