Mr J Y Pillay served in the Administrative Service as Permanent Secretary of various ministries, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Government Investment Corporation and as Ambassador to the UK.
He was Chairman of Singapore Airlines, Singapore Exchange and other key corporations, and currently chairs the Council of Presidential Advisors. He is the Rector of the College of Alice & Peter Tan and Adjunct Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. Mr Pillay was awarded the Order of Nila Utama (First Class), the highest honour for public service, in the National Day Awards 2012.
