The learning experience is reflected in thoughtful personal reflections and well-researched reports. Unlike volunteering programmes, this internship has a strong focus on academic and internship supervision to scaffold students’ appreciation of complex issues.
Course Eligibility
The Community Internship course is a 4 Unit, Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (CS/CU) undergraduate course. It is an Unrestricted Elective (UE) that cannot replace the five courses in the University Town College Programme (UTCP). Students should have completed or are en route to completing the UTCP. The internships typically occurs over 8 weeks (full time) during Special Term Parts 1 and 2.
Each internship team comprises two to five students, of which at least half of the team must be current residents in CAPT, under the guidance of a supervising Fellow and an internship supervisor. The recruitment of students and the formation of teams usually take place two months before the internship starts.
