CAPT10 – Amazing Race to the Beach

The Amazing Race, held on 7 January 2022, kickstarted the series of celebrations to mark CAPT’s tenth anniversary. Organised by the student-led CAPT10 Beach Day committee, the theme of Amazing Race was centred around CAPT’s history and culture. This event brought together CAPTains for a meaningful time of bonding around UTown and Sentosa.

Participants were grouped into teams of five and took part in various exhilarating challenges that quizzed them on their knowledge of CAPT’s culture and history, for example, what are CAPT’s former names? Around UTown, the teams pitted against one another, and their brains and brawn were put to the test in many “running man” style challenges like human tic-tac-toe and treasure hunt. At Sentosa, CAPTains engaged in gruelling team challenges such as “Hangman By The Sea and “Action Rock, Paper, Scissors”.

The day ended with CAPTains getting treated to a wide array of nostalgic local snacks. In line with the theme of celebrating the rich heritage that CAPT encapsulates, these snacks included curry puffs, fish balls and milk teas. While enjoying the food, CAPTains penned their well wishes and hopes for CAPT on pebbles using multi-colored pens. These pebbles are now displayed in CAPT as part of the CAPT10 celebrations.

The event was a great start to celebrating CAPT’s 10th anniversary!
