In its second run, the CAPT Student Leader Action Mentorship (CAPTSLAM) saw 20 CAPTains mentoring 24 student leaders from Tanglin Secondary School (TSS) as part of the three-month mentorship programme which concluded with a cultural immersion trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Ten mentorship sessions were held in CAPT where values such as leadership and resilience were discussed. During the trip to Chang Mai, the mentors and mentees visited local primary and secondary schools where TSS students led activities with the guidance from CAPTains. Through the preparation process, execution of activities and debriefs, mentors shared values and best practices with mentees.
During their visit to Suanboonyopatham Lamphun School, students from TSS shared the Singapore culture with local students as well as organised small group activities and telematch games. The day’s programme ended with an exchange of sports – students from Singapore taught Thai students the basics of frisbee and learnt local sports from Thai students. Towards the end of the trip, CAPTains also aided in a fence-building project at Care Corner Orphanage Chiang Mai.
