CAPTSLAM Yunnan

CAPT Student Leader Action Mentorship (CAPTSLAM) is a three-month programme, which culminated in a cultural immersion trip to Yunnan, China. A group of 14 CAPTains mentored 20 student leaders from Tanglin Secondary School (TSS) as a part of the programme. The mentoring programme consisted of eight sessions where issues such as leadership and beliefs were discussed. The objective of the trip was for the CAPT students to act as mentors to the Tanglin students and to serve as a platform for the mentors to cultivate their mentees’ confidence in leadership. During a visit to Ning Hu Primary School in Yunnan, TSS students took the lead – they taught the children basic Frisbee skills and conducted a health fair to educate the children about the damaging consequences of smoking and addiction.
