Event Navigation
12 April 2017 marked the date of CAPT’s second formal dinner of AY2016/2017, also known as the Farewell Dinner. As usual, the dinner was hosted by Rector of the College, Mr J Y Pillay, who kickstarted the event with a poignant speech – one that not only suitably reminded CAPTains to appreciate their time in the College, but also galvanised them to prepare for the future outside of CAPT.
Following the Rector’s Address, guests were treated to a series of stirring performances put up by the guitar by Mike; a thrilling magic performance by Marcus from Impressionist, CAPT’s very own magic Interest Group (IG); and acoustic renditions prepared by Guitarpella, one of CAPT’s two music performance IGs. In between CAPTain’s performances, Dr Tan Lai Yong presented the Wacky Awards to CAPTains who have livened up residential living for their friends, while A/P Reuben Wong and Dr Daniel Jew individually congratulated all UTCP graduands on stage. College Master A/P Adeline Seow also presented the College Awards and the CAPTain of the Year award to deserving CAPTains. After all award presentations, Lee Yen Ter gave a heart-warming appreciation speech – his final one in his capacity as President of the 5th College Students’ Committee (CSC). As per tradition he was later joined on stage by incoming President of the 6th CSC, Nathanial Chua, in reciting the CAPT Pledge.
Other highlights of the night include the revelation of ‘CAPTivated: Encounters that Challenge, Nurture, and Inspire’, the special publication produced in commemoration of the College’s 5th anniversary (available here), as well as a surprise song item performed by CAPT’s Fellows.
