The Greek financial and economic crisis of the last few years has figured highly on the EU’s recent internal policy agenda. While most analysts and commentators focus on the economic implications of Greek economic collapse on the Eurozone, few discuss the politics of the Eurozone and why propping up the Greek economy should be viewed as a political enterprise in the grander narrative of European integration. Similarly, the geopolitics of the Greek crisis remain underrepresented in current analyses as do the implications for the crisis on the EU’s relations with regions such as SE Asia.
