Professor Brenda Yeoh is Professor (Provost’s Chair), Department of Geography, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore. Within the Department, Professor Yeoh is a member of the Critical Social/Cultural Geographies Group. She is also the Research Leader of the Asian Migration Cluster at the Asia Research Institute, NUS, and coordinates the Asian MetaCentre for Population and Sustainable Development Analysis.
Professor Yeoh spoke on Singapore street names as a lens through which to understand Singapore’s historical geography and her development as a nation-state, and also shared her own personal journey growing up in this country.
