06 Dec 2012

Professor Sir Roy Calne is a British surgeon and pioneer in organ transplantation who performed the first liver transplantation in Europe in 1968. He is currently the Yeoh Ghim Seng Visiting Professor of Surgery at NUS. Professor Lee Kok Onn is a Professor of Medicine and Senior Consultant Endocrinologist at NUS.

For this Master’s Tea, they highlighted several observations related to the importance or irrelevance of scepticism in human endeavour. Various aspects of the phenomena referred to will be challenged in more detail for you to judge whether scepticism is a valuable and laudable attitude and activity or whether it is likely to lead to more harm than good to our species and the rest of the planet.
