Project Kindle

This is the second run of Project Kindle, following up from the success of the project last year. Project Kindle aimed to develop the socio-emotional competencies in foster children from Methodist Children and Youth Centre Community Services Society (MCYCCSS).

Project Jiak Simi: Food Stories of Golden Kismis Residents

Social participation is key for active ageing and it has a positive impact on both physical and mental health. In this project, the team collaborated with Toh Yi Residents Committee and Hannah Presbyterian Services to examine the food stories – social experiences associated with food – in one of the elderly resident blocks in Toh Yi Drive.

What happens next?

Foster care is a temporary arrangement with the ultimate goal of reuniting the children and youth with their biological families.

Constellations

“Constellations” aims to encourage and build interaction skills between youths-at-risk in Singapore and society, so as to aid their integration into society.

Preventing Domestic Violence

This Capstone project investigated the perceptions and expectations that young people in Singapore have about what constitutes abusive romantic relationships, and their awareness and receptiveness of potential solutions.

Recapturing Food Waste

Global edible food waste in 2007 was estimated to be 1.3 gigatons (FAO). In Singapore, we have generated 790,000 tonnes of food waste in 2016, and only 13% of food waste is recycled into animal feeds and organic fertilisers, while the remaining 87% of food waste is incinerated (MEWR).
